Well for topics on theories we seem to be alittle short. Well I am going to put some out there.
I feel that Tara was brought back to Rabbit Fall for more than just a transfer. Why did she choose Rabbit Fall.. what lured her there. She must have been sensitive to the supernatural before Rabbit Fall and being close to her real home only strengthened her visions and kept getting stronger. She finds that she has a real past there and will find what the real reason she was brought back. She has a mission she has to right from a wrong and the spirits will not rest untill justice is done. She has more of a personal connection to Blackhorse. Not only were they rivals in the past but at one time were either brother and sister or partners divided by greed or loss of leadership of the tribe by a vote close to them.. the chief. This bitterness started a war and divided the tribe.. Some followed Blackhorse the others followed Tara. The rivalry grows stronger and Blackhorse devotion to bring Tara down turns him to the darkside and brings on evil guides and magic. Tara is backed by saving the tribe from all that Blackhorse throws herway. Until his followers take the settlement by surprise.... Tara has to call upon the spirits to help her find the strength to one day correct the wrong Blackhorse has committed.

The spirits tell her that her day will come and they will guide her to release the trapped spirits from the massacre that fell upon them. But Tara has to learn the ways and the spirits will let her know when that day will come.. when she is ready to challenge Blackhorse they will be with her.

I read a book when i was a kid called the Wapiti about a white youth who sought refuge on a spirit mountain and found his true calling as a shaman and over came the predujices of race and culture.
i like the spin the writers have done as the cop is now awakening her powers to save a town who dont even want her there.
