Simon Blackhorse is possessed. He seems like such a nice guy—sometimes. He acts like he really cares…then he goes crazy and tries to kill Tara! Violence seems out of character for Simon. It’s not him, so it must be a possession. Some kind of evil spirit.

When Tara comes up to him just before he pulls the gun on her, he’s chopping wood really methodically, like Jack Nicholson in the Shining. He is totally possessed.

Simon does seem like a good guy. When he asks Tara how her search for her childhood is going, he sounds & looks like he genuinely concerned. I don’t know if he’s possessed though!

If it’s not possession, what is it?

Or just a murderer. I think he knew where Gabrielle’s body was because he killed her. And he used Johnny Redden as a scapegoat.
Yeah, trying to be all good-guy medicine man when really, he’s a killer. I think de tries to kill Tara because she’s onto him.

Maybe he has something to hide? Or protect? He kind of warns Tara off of investigating her coworker Bob too much. So maybe he knows something about Bob. There could be a rational explanation for why he shoots at Tara. Whatever it is he knows must be really important.

Maybe evil is a gene that runs in Simon's family. It's kind of weird that the grave that caused the flesh-eating disease belonged to his father. There has to be some deeper meaning there. Hmmm. Tara didn't respect tradition and do a proper ceremony before digging up the grave, so maybe the dead old Mr. Blackhorse spewed out the disease as payback.

Do you think Simon started the disease? Seems like he did but I'm not sure why.

tara owes simon a BIG FAT APOLOGY right abou tnow. its practically police harassment. he had nothing to do with karens disappearance, except they used to be friends or date or whatever. the second tara hears his name she jumps all over it. everyone in rabbit fall must know each other, its a small town, right? so who WOULDN'T simon know or have a past with, and same with everyone else? tara's got to look past her prejudice or she'll miss solving some real and serious crimes.

Now we know! Simon is a reincarnated medicine man, like his dad was a medicine man before him, he was the person who ordered the slaughter of the spririt girl’s village. He’s not possessed, but, has past-life memories. His ancestor was the cause of the killing field that Tara keeps sensing.
